Roles for curvy women and women of color are hard to come by. Which is why it’s such a breath of fresh air to see the curvaceous beauty that is Julia Pace Mitchell. The daughter of actress Judy Pace and actor Don Mitchell has displayed her acting skills on the silver screen and TV. You may remember her as the high school girlfriend of The Notorious B.I.G in the biopic “Notorious” and for you soap lovers you know her as the tough Sofia Dupre on The Young & Restless. 
Mitchell has been on hit shows like SVU and just last year she had a small part in the film “Faster” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Mitchell is also a trained actress with a Masters in Fine Arts. She brings depth and confidence to her roles. Just staring into her dough eyes on screen as Jan in Notorious made us feel her pain of being a baby mother and her take charge attitude as Sofia on YR makes us root for her in every scene. Julia’s role as Sofia has made audiences take notice. Just recently she garnered a NAACP Image Award nomination.
We are enjoying watching her transform as an actress and can’t wait to see what she does next.
Funny enough, I was just reading about her early yesterday morning. She was featured somewhere else and I was amazed to find out that she was on “The Young And The Restless”.
Truthfully, I am not a fan of any of her red carpet looks. But it is great to see Hollywood give more opportunities to talented voluptuous women. I mean, talent is talent. No matter the size.

I was home sick yesterday and saw her on Y& R for the first time. She’s pretty great. And gorgeous!
i happened to catch the young & the restless the other day and wondered who she was. thanks for featuring her; however, i have to agree with vivi. i’m not really feeling the looks shown, with the exclusion of the peachy, strapless dress.
The first time I ever heard of her was when you featured her the other day! I immediately googled her – I was a fan of both her father and mother as actors – and then set my DVR to start taping Y&R for a few episodes so that I can check her out. However, I have to agree with everyone else – Alissa, perhaps you can offer your stylist services to her? She could certainly use them!

PLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEASSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssE! She is getting married to a man in Middletown, OHIO.. The place where no 1 wants to live and there is for sale signs up on every other house. Not to mention she knew the guy less than 5 months… Wow.. Can you say reality check??? I am sure her family is proud. Can you say he is just jumping on the band wagon to get his company out there??? As the old song says ” My momma told me I better shop around” and that means – not to shop any where near the city of Middltown, OH. I live in the out-skirts of it and I hate it. Crime is as bad as it gets here. There is not a good thing to say about this place. The cops are far and few between the Cheif has issues with his own kids (drugs and drinking) but wants to correct other people’s kids for doing the same thing but shhh shhh what his are doing. And this girl wants to get involved with Middletown, OH.? Better shop around my dear and stay clear of Middletown, OH. cause if not your name will go down with it. What a shame. Any man that wants to get married that quick has issues.. I doubt it is for love.. hint hint.. If he loved you he would take the time to get to know YOU first before jumping the gun.. When someone is in that much of a hurry it comes with a price. Not knowing the true person.. His or her past.. Or even what his or her favorites are.. etc.. You get my point.. Take it from a mom… Don’t rush love.. cause you will rush right out of it soon.
