Working a full time day job and running a successful blog part time is a lot of work and requires my style to always be on point or atleast as close to on point as I can get. By day, I work in Corporate America where the dress code is polished professional, but as a fashion blogger, the dress code is anything goes. Often times I have to run to blog events straight after to work so I need a wardrobe that’s going to allow me to look the part for my day job and standout at night to represent my blog.
To represent both my corporate style and fashion blogger style I like to mix sophisticated with edgy. I am a huge fan of biker jackets or leather jackets with a dress. It’s a no fail combination for an amazing outfit. When it comes to shopping for my wardrobe I shop all over the place. I love my designer pieces just like the next girl but I also love to shop cute pieces on a budget from stores like Kohl’s. I’ve shopped at Kohl’s numerous times and found some great stylish pieces in their plus size section. Lately, I’ve been loving the plus size pieces from Jennifer Lopez and Rock & Republic.
A few weeks ago, I teamed up with Kohl’s and I shopped their online plus size section and I found a very chic dress from the Jennifer Lopez collection. When I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect piece to take me from day to night. It was a sleeveless zebra print sheath dress.
I love the way this dress skimmed my body and it fit true to size. It has stretch in it, so if I wanted a more fitted look, I could have sized down. I decided to belt the dress to help create a waist and wore silver accessories with it because it went well with the black and white theme.
I love wearing dresses like this with a cropped leather jacket or biker jacket because it adds a little edge to the sophisticated look.
I will definitely be getting a lot of wear out of this dress, because I can wear it with anything.
