Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott is officially back. Have you guys seen her newest video? It’s classic yet modern Missy. She brings it with the lyrics. My favorite line is “I’m so fat in the back, make the boys all collapse.” I could see myself shaking it up in the mirror while repeating the line over and over. Talk about a confidence boost. What I loved most about the video next to the dope dance moves, were the outfits. As usual, Missy brings it with her edgy street style. She’s never been the type of female entertainer to dress sexy but she’s always had that street edge style down pat.
While watching the video, I picked out my favorite looks. Missy effortlessly fused classic hip hop style with pop art. While I am not a baggy pants or jersey sweatshirt wearing type of girl, after seeing this video, I just may become one. First, let me just say how much I absolutely love this pop art look. I would most certainly wear that jacket with a leather pencil skirt. Can we talk about that bob hair cut, just perfect. I am even here for the blue eye shadow. It reminds me of Makeup Forever pigment in blue
My second favorite look was the mirrored sweatsuit. It was just the epitome of cool and futuristic. I would definitely rock those shades.
I liked the 93 black jersey with leather sleeves look. The 97 Biggie hat and black lipstick brought me back to the 90’s. The black lipstick reminds me of Kat Von D’s studded lipstick in matte pitch black. I was a teen in the 90’s and dark lipstick and jerseys were the thing to wear.
