It’s here! SC’s annual denim guide. Every year in August we bring you the hottest plus size denim trends. This year we have some classic styles returning but we also have some new denim styles that will definitely add a little flavor to your wardrobe.

Moto Style

I am absolutely in love with the moto style trend. As the weather gets cooler we can look to the structed panels to give us edge AND still keep our knee caps warm! The great thing about this style is you can pair it with your flannel shirts, your graphic tees and you can also pair with elegant blouses. You can dress these jeans up or down and you’ll still look great! I love Old Navy’s subtle take on the trend and Ashley Stewart gives you a unique take on the trend witha curvier line. I’ve got my eye on the Violeta pair since the first time I’ve seen them. Pair these jeans with a strong boot or closed – toe heel.
Unique Mineral Wash
Keeping up with the resurgence of Acid Wash denim – we’ve seen some new unique washes and colors come from this trend. For fall we see dark and light browns and a deep breath taking hue of red from ASOS. Liek the moto trend – these jeans are ready to be dressed up or down, although I would avoid super feminine tops like peplum with these jeans.

Zipper Detail
Who needs pockets when you have zippers? It seems like this season the zipper accent has traveled from the ankle to the front pockets on many styles! The zippers are diagnol to set compliment your curves. Styling wise – I would pait these jeans with shorter tops to showcase the hardware like peplume or a cropped top.

Overalls/Jumpsuits
I am so happy that feminine overalls are going to be here for awhile an no matter what your shape is, they are coming out with more and more quality styles and colors. As a an earthtone afficianado I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of the olive overalls from Ashley Stewart!

Acid Wash
80’s denim has made a return and I’m not mad at it. Acid wash jeans are cool again. From skinny jeans to ripped styles, acid wash is definitely a denim trend worth trying for the first time or reliving for the 2nd or 3rd time.
