So often when we think of designers creating beautiful clothes for us, we never take the time to get to know the journey it took them to design a collection. Designer A’shontay Hubbard of Christian Omeshun posted on her Instagram page a touching message about the journey she took to create her latest collection called “With Love.”
Ashontay wrote: “It feels good to finally be at this place. This year has been a complete roller coaster with a ton of wins and losses. I’ve questioned my purpose, I’ve questioned my gift, I’d even began to question should I continue Christian Omeshun but throughout this entire process I know that my work here isn’t done.”
She goes on further to share why this collection is special to her. It can be difficult to open up about the ups and downs of being a designer, especially when you’re designing plus size clothing. Just a few months ago iconic plus size designer Monif C. announced that she would be taking a break from her namesake line.
So, we salute A’shontay for sharing a snippet of her journey and for deciding to continue with her gift.
